SHOWMAN'S POLISH
Paint correction is the process of delicately shaving away a micrometre of the clear coat to cut through the surface that has been scratched and swirled to reveal a fresh surface with a gloss that hasn't been seen since it left the showroom floor. The first pass must remove a small amount of clear coat using aggressive compounds and polish pads. This leaves the surface smooth and free of most scratches but dull and without lustre. The second pass finesses the surface to produce a deep, rich gloss and exceptional finish. The process is labour intensive, but with a proper new paint job for a car costing in the area of $8,000-$10,000, this is an excellent way to fix old paint or finesse new paint.
